According to the International Coffee Association, every Finn consumes about 12 kg of coffee every year. This makes Finland the second largest coffee consuming country in the world.
Finns live literally from coffee to coffee, drinking 4-5 cups a day. The Finnish language even has special words for different types of coffee, depending on the place and / or time of the “tasting”: “aamukahvi” (morning coffee), “päiväkahvi” (afternoon coffee), “iltakahvi” (evening coffee), “saunakahvi”(sauna coffeee). The Finns value Arabica exclusively. High-quality raw materials are brought mainly from Colombia and Brazil. And the traditional low degree of roasting of grains allows fully reveal the exquisite taste and aroma. Finns love coffee with milk, but without sugar, they balance the bitterness of the drink with a cake, bun or sweet cake.
You can drink coffee in Finland alone, admiring nature, or in company, but you do not need to maintain a polite conversation. Often coffee breaks take place in complete silence.
