Вот уже второй десяток лет финский кинематограф набирает обороты: на экранах страны, да и за её пределами, появляются новые, своеобразные фильмы. Кстати, ещё в начале 1990-х годов в СССР прошёл фестиваль финского кино, который собрал у телеэкранов заинтересованного отечественного зрителя. Но вернёмся к современному состоянию киноиндустрии Финляндии: не все картины получают мировую известность и признание. Так или иначе, финский кинопрокат интересен, а среди режиссёров много талантливых, перспективных личностей. Они задают вектор развития, формируют национальный образ, говорят об актуальных проблемах языком кино, не лишённым северной самобытности.

Одним из таких режиссёров можно назвать Маркку Пёлёнена. Он родился 15 сентября 1957 года в небольшом городе Эно. Начинал свою карьеру со съёмки рекламных роликов, короткометражных фильмов, учебных видео и индивидуальных заказов. Сегодня Пёлёнен не только режиссер, но и сценарист, монтажёр, оператор, актёр и продюсер, а также Владелец компании Suomen Filmiteollisuus. Чаще всего Пёлёнен работает в жанрах комедии и драмы. Он любит свой народ, предпочитает показывать его со всеми особенностями национального характера. В его фильмах прослеживается отличительная черта финнов – умение посмеяться над собой, посмотреть на ситуацию со стороны. Изображает Марку обычных, сельских людей, которые, несмотря на обстоятельства, способны преодолеть любые неприятности. Герои всегда действуют на фоне природы, поэтому она тоже становится действующим персонажем. Фильмография Маркку включает девять режиссёрских работ (по собственным сценариям), две картины были смонтированы под его началом, и в одной Маркку выступил в роли актёра. Среди его богатого «кино-багажа» есть фильмы, удостоенные кинопремий и наград. Например, фильм «Собачий коготь», снятый по сценарию самого Пёлёнена, получил пять наград премии Юсси в 2005 году, в том числе и за лучшую режиссуру и лучший сценарий. Эту картину критики считают самой зрелой из всех. Также в творчестве Маркку Пёлёнена можно выделить следующие фильмы: «Земля счастья» (1993 г.), получивший награду премии Юсси за лучший фильм и лучший сценарий; «Последнее венчание» (1995 г.), отмеченную за лучшую режиссуру; а также картину «Лето у реки», которую наградили за лучший фильм, лучшего режиссёра и лучший сценарий.

Another Finnish master

For the second decade, Finnish cinema is gaining momentum: on the screens of the country, and beyond, there are new, original films. By the way, in the early 1990s, the USSR hosted a festival of Finnish cinema, which gathered the TV screens of the interested domestic audience. But let's return to the current state of the Finnish film industry: not all paintings gain worldwide fame and recognition. Anyway, Finnish film rental is interesting, and among the directors are many talented, promising personalities. They set the vector of development, form a national image, and talk about actual problems with the language of cinema, not devoid of northern identity.

One such director can be called Markku Puhlenen. He was born on September 15, 1957, in the small town Eno. He began his career by shooting commercials, short films, instructional videos and individual orders. Today, Puhlenen is not only a director, but also a screenwriter, editor, cameraman, actor and producer, as well as the owner of the company «Suomen Filmiteollisuus».Most often Puhlenen works in the genres of comedy and drama. He loves his people, prefers to show it with all the features of national character. In his films there is a distinctive feature of the Finns - the ability to laugh at them, look at the situation from the outside. It depicts Markku as ordinary, rural people who, despite the circumstances, are able to overcome any troubles. Heroes always act against the background of nature, so it also becomes an acting character. Markku's filmography includes nine directorial works (based on his own scripts), two paintings were edited under his direction, and in one Markku acted as an actor. Among his rich «movie-baggage» there are films, awarded film awards and prizes. For example, the film "Dog Claw", based on the script of Pyhlenen, received five Awards of the Jussi Award in 2005, including for best director and best screenplay. This picture is considered by critics as the most mature of all. Also in the work of Markku Puhlenen can be distinguished the following films: "The Land of Happiness" (1993), which received the award Jussi award for best film and best screenplay; "The Last Wedding" (1995), awarded for best director; as well as the film "Summer by the River", which was recompensed for best film, best director and best screenplay.
