За все годы увлечения музыкой мне приходилось слушать много всего. На исходе седьмой год, как я не расстаюсь с наушниками, ибо «тяжеляк» часть жизни, второй воздух и хлеб. Музыка легко поддаётся изменению, поэтому и существует её огромное разнообразие. В добавок, всё многообразие преумножается и дополняется преобразованием уже имеющегося. В большинстве случаев это ремиксы и каверы. На мой взгляд, первые почти не несут художественной ценности, они редко бывают интереснее или лучше оригинала.

Другое дело – каверы. Уверена, их слышал каждый и мог даже не подозревать об этом. Я вот совсем недавно узнала, что одна из любимых песен Murderdolls «White Wedding» - кавер на Билли Айдола. До сих пор не могу осознать. Или известная песня «Арии» «Беспечный Ангел» – на «Going to the Run» группы Golden Earring в свободном переводе, например. Ну, баллада про ангела на байке, по крайней мере, в одном жанре держится. А вот свадебный ужастик – лёгкий рок и хорор-панк – разница на лицо.

Подводка затянулась. Так вот, пока я изучала финский рок и метал, знакомая посоветовала послушать Northern Kings. А открыв Википедию, впала в ступор. ВСЕ УЧАСТНИКИ – ВОКАЛИСТЫ? А остальные музыканты лишь приглашённые участники? Как так? Вот это интрига. Что же эти четверо фронтменов записали? Оказалось, кавер-альбом на хиты 80-х. Такая перспектива не обрадовала, но любопытство взяло верх.

Я никогда раньше не слышала никого из перепетых ими исполнителей. Только знала некоторые имена и названия, на вроде Radiohead, Билли Айдола, Тины Тёрнер и Дэвида Боуи. Остальных видела впервые. Почти то же самое и с участниками Northern Kings. Из всех я немного знала Марко Хиетала. Хиеталыча из Nightwish все знают. А вот с Яркко Ахола, Юха-Пекка Леппялуото и Тони Какко ещё предстояло познакомиться.

Их альбом каверов «Reborn» и оригинальные композиции я специально слушала в разные дни. Ни одну из них сопоставить у меня не вышло. Только после второго прослушивания нашла одно очевидное совпадение: песня «Don’t Stop Believin’» группы Journey. И после третьего – «Rebel Yell» Билли Айдола. Узнать остальные друг в друге не удаётся.

В новом исполнении «80-е» звучат мощно, величественно и самое главное, гораздо интереснее. Меня особенно впечатлил мрачный голос Леппялуото, от которого кровь стынет в жилах. И совсем другое дело Ахола, с его живеньким и звонким голосом. Под песни с таким вокалом обычно кривляешься перед зеркалом, представляя себя рок-звездой на сцене какого-нибудь фестиваля. Марко и Тони запомнились классическим метальным вокалом, что необычайно обрадовало. Из-за слияния всевозможных музыкальных жанров подобное встречается редко и ещё реже исполняется на профессиональном уровне. Как жаль, что такой красивый эксперимент прибывает в небытие. А может, так даже лучше? Я почувствовала себя чуточку счастливее, прикоснувшись к этому. А счастье, как известно, любит тишину.

For all the years of my passion for music, I had to listen to a lot of things. At the end of the seventh year, as I do not part with the headphones, because the «heavy» part of life, the second air and bread. Music is easy to change, and therefore there is a huge variety. In addition, all the diversity is multiplied and supplemented by the transformation of the existing one. In most cases, these are remixes and covers. In my opinion, the former have almost no artistic value; they are rarely more interesting or better than the original.

Covers are another matter. I'm sure everyone heard it and might not even have suspected it. I just recently found out that one of the Murderdolls' favorite songs «White Wedding» is a cover of Billy Idol. I still cannot understand. Or the famous song ARIA (Russian heavy-metal band) «Careless Angel» - on «Going to the Run» by the Golden Earring in free translation, for example. Well, the ballad about an angel on a bike holds up in at least one genre. But a wedding horror movie – soft rock and horror-punk - the difference is on the face.

The introduction was delayed. So, while I was studying Finnish rock and metal, my friend advised me to listen to Northern Kings. And having opened Wikipedia, I fell into a stupor. ARE ALL PARTICIPANTS ARE VOCALISTS? Are the other musicians just invited members? How so? This is intrigue. What did these four frontmens record? It turned out to be a cover album of hits from the 80s. This prospect wasn’t encouraging, but curiosity prevailed. I've never heard any of the performers they've sung before. I only knew a few names and titles like Radiohead, Billy Idol, Tina Turner and David Bowie. I saw the rest for the first time.

Much the same with the Northern Kings members. Of all of them, I knew Marco Hietala a little. Everybody knows this buddy from Nightwish. But with Yarrko Ahola, Juha-Pekka Leppäluoto and Tony Kakko still had to meet. Their cover album "Reborn" and the original compositions I listened to on different days. I couldn’t compare any of them. Only after the second listening did I find one obvious coincidence: the song «Don’t Stop Believin» by Journey. And after the third – «Rebel Yell» by Billy Idol. It is not possible to recognize the rest in each other.

In the new performance, "80s" sound powerful, majestic and, most importantly, much more interesting. I was particularly impressed by the gloomy voice of Leppäluoto, from which the blood runs cold. And Ahola, with his lively and sonorous voice, is quite another matter. To songs with such vocals, you usually grimace in front of the mirror, imagining yourself as a rock star on the stage of some festival. Marko and Tony were remembered for their classic metal vocals, which made them extremely happy. Due to the fusion of all kinds of musical genres, this is rare and even less often performed on a professional level. What a pity that such a beautiful experiment comes into oblivion. Or is it even better? I felt a little happier to touch this. And happiness, as you know, loves silence.
